Religious
Education/Adult Classes
The
parish offers Catechism classes for children and teens to assist parents
in handing on the Catholic faith to their children.
Our Catechists teach motivating classes which not only inform
students about God and the Church, but also challenge them to grow
closer to God through a life of prayer and meaningful participation
in the Church. Please call the office, (512) 458-3693, for more information or
to register your children.
Recognizing
that our responsibility to grow in faith does not end when we turn
18, our parish offers many opportunities for adults to continue learning
more about the Catholic faith and deepen their spiritual lives. For more information on our current classes for adults, please contact
the church office at (512) 458-3693.
St.
Joseph's Men’s Club
Third Sunday after
Liturgy.
The
role of the Men’s Club is to follow St. Joseph's example and care
for the physical aspect of our parish family. The men are involved
in the upkeep of the parish campus, repairs, and improvements. The
club has sponsored young men working on their Eagle Scout awards and
has supported Tele Lumiere, the only Christian television network
in the Middle East.
The
St. Joseph’s Men’s Club also sponsors retreats for the youth of the
parish, a yearly Mother’s Day Brunch in May for
all of the ladies of the parish, and an annual Christmas party. They have various fundraisers throughout the
year to support their ministry. For more information, please phone the president,
John Kocian, at (512) 836-3167.
Our
Lady’s Altar Society
First Sunday after
Liturgy.
The
Altar Society has been the backbone of our parish. Their primary concern
is the care and upkeep of the church (our temple), the Altar, vestments,
and all that pertains to worship. They have purchased Liturgical books
and songbooks. They ensure that flowers are given for each Sunday’s
Liturgy, and they provide refreshments for special events throughout
the year. They sponsor a yearly
Christmas dinner party for all the ladies in the parish.
They sell breakfast tacos on the second Sunday of each month,
and they put on a Mid-Eastern Dinner every year on Palm Sunday. For
more information, please phone the president, Suha Vargas, at (512)
292-8353 or (512) 917-8238 (cell).
Maronite
Youth Organization (MYO)
Second Sunday after
Liturgy.
The
Maronite Youth Organization is an exciting opportunity for teens to
participate in service projects, pro-life events, retreats, trips,
and other forms of fellowship. The youth group also holds fundraisers to finance
their activities. For more
information, please contact our youth ministers, Tom and Christine
Bashara, at (512) 295-6869.
